Every door is certified and tested
The renowned ift Institute in Rosenheim and the European Flood Protection Association EVH have tested the AquaLOCK® products with the following simulation:During a flood, more than 6,000 litres of water press against a gate within a very short time. A normal gate would not stand a chance against this - the complete mass of water would flood the interior.
* But as the tests confirm, the AquaLOCK® system for gates and doors keeps 99.9 % of the water out.
Thus, AquaLOCK® products fulfil the requirement "flood resistant" according to the ift-guideline. In the test situation, this means that only a maximum of 240 litres "may" penetrate in the course of 24 hours.
In practice, however, the actual amount of water is usually even less, because the tests are carried out with pure clear water.
And since flood water is always polluted, dirt has a positive effect in this case:
The dirt particles strengthen the water protection effect because they close the tiny remaining paths for the water.
